the thing about mr darcy. is that everything he does he does because of his eldest sibling syndrome. it’s so important that he has a younger sister and it’s so important that she’s 16 and it’s so important that their parents are dead. it’s so important that georgaina is friendly and cheerful and that he hates everyone. it’s so important that he loathes wickham for what he did to her and gets involved to stop him from destroying lizzy’s younger sister’s life. it’s so important that he moves bingley away because he thinks he’s about to get his heart broken. it’s so important that bingley is a lot like georgiana. like seriously darcy is an asshole because he’s an eldest sibling and he’s so so sweet because he’s an eldest sibling that’s the whole point
Ahh! Trick or treat!! 🎃🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
Oh my! So spooky!🤣 Uh… let me give you a sneak peek at another fic idk if I should continue on. Would’ve also made a good Halloween fic.

The sea breeze filled the evening air, mixing with the humidity that naturally clung to the Thailand day. It was a smell that was comforting and home to Chay. It made everything feel better and safe for him. He couldn’t remember a time when the roar of the ocean didn’t greet him in the morning on his walk to school, or seeing sand trailing all over the town like a breadcrumb trail letting others know where you’d just come from. It was all so familiar and so comforting.
But today, something felt off. A smell he couldn’t place licked at the usual seaspray that he was so used to. Something bitter and wrong soured the tropical fruits that popped on his tongue that he had gotten from one of the many aunties who sold them on the side of the road. The usually pleasant coconut and mango shaved ice that he saved all week to purchase from the old uncle’s shop on the corner by their small rundown home, as a reward for all his studying and finishing all his assignments, seemed off and too sweet. Just everything was off. And Chay couldn’t figure out why.
He licked the sticky syrup from his lips, wincing as it just didn’t taste like normal, and felt a small breath of relief as the old beaten down sky blue home came into view. The old wood with its chipped paint from the storms that came to call and tried their best to blow it down, felt right as he trailed one of his tanned fingers along the entryway. Pushing on the tan door, hearing the familiar creak, he felt his stomach untwist slowly as the smell of home engulfed him, wrapping him up like a blanket. Salt, the hint of something citrus, and the ever lingering coconut, mixed with something almost spicy and nutty was the perfect blend of him and his hia. He made his way to the kitchen to grab one of his neverending stock of coconut waters, and as he feared, it also tasted less refreshing than normal. The usually cool and slightly sweet liquid coated his mouth, and after he had swallowed his first gulp, he checked the bottle, just to make sure.
worldheritagepostorganization:
you can make nearly any object into a good insult if you put ‘you absolute’ in front of it
example: you absolute coat hanger
as well u can just add ‘ed’ to any object and it’s sounds like you were really drunk
example: i was absolutely coat hangered last night
Meanwhile, “utter” works for the first (e.g., “you utter floorboard”) but somehow “utterly” doesn’t seem to work as well for the second (“I was utterly floorboarded”).
Utterly doesn’t work for drunk because it’s the affix for turning random objects into terms for *shocked*, obviously.
… huh. I thought that might just be the similarity to “floored”, and yet “I was utterly coat hangered” does seem to convey something similar.
I have to tell you, I am utterly sandwiched at this discovery.
Completely makes the phrase mean “super tired”.
“God, it’s been a long week, I am completely coat-hangered.”
Something is
Something is wrong with our language
Is it a glitch or a feature?
Feature
we don’t have anything like this in French and it offers a range of expressibility that I wish we could properly translate back. it is a feature, i concur

wonder what did this to English
this is truly one of the marvels of the english language! as an immortal cryptid from a void dimension, i find this language fascinating (and also wildly inconsistent)

Trick or Treat! 🧛🏻♀️🎃🍫🍬
Oh I know the perfect snippet for you! With that emoji set, I give you the spooky KimChay fic I was working on. (Let me know if anyone actually wants to see this, since I’m kinda meh about it)
Under the cut because it’s a little unhinged.
Always remember to stay weird!
[ID: an illustration of a platypus swimming in swirly blue water surrounded by pebbles and aquatic plants. Above and below it, the words “Stay weird” are drawn in teal, yellow, and orange, and there is a chromatic aberration effect which gives the words and water ripples a trippy vibe. End.]

Benji! My bestie! Thank you. Hmmmmm… how about a small look at chapter 2 of ‘Pretty In Periwinkle’?

The few times he had been forced to eat there with Porsche — so they could dine with their mother — it was near impossible to eat anything as he felt his every move being picked apart and studied like he was some experiment in a laboratory. He had then snuck into the kitchens — to sneak out food when his hunger pains became too great — retreating back to his rooms where he felt just a bit safer and less watched. Once they were in the lift, Chay made sure their hands were out of view, as he raised his one free hand up to Kim’s wrist and tugged gently once at one of his bracelets. Leaning his body into Kim’s — under the guise of trying to see around him — Chay whispered, “I’m not going anywhere.”
He saw the goosebumps that prickled Kim’s neck at his words, and felt Kim move his arm — that still held Chay’s — closer to his body squeezing it just a bit. “I know,” Kim whispered, as Chay pulled back just as the ding of the lift sounded to let them know that they had made it to their destination.
